Tsoknyi Nuns Welfare Foundation
Grand Opening Celebration of Tsoknyi Gechak Ling Nunnery
October 26 – 27, 2026
Teachings: October 29 – November 6, 2026
With sincere gratitude and joy we announce the opening celebration of Tsoknyi Gechak Ling Nunnery in Chobar, Nepal. This historic occasion honors the actualization of Tsoknyi Rinpoche two-fold vision:
-
establishing a sacred home for the Tsoknyi Lineage in Nepal
-
sharing the secular Fully Being teachings, which connect us to our innate quality of essence love in order to heal the wounds of ourselves and the world.
This achievement reflects years of dedicated effort, inspired by the blessings and aspirations of great masters, and made possible through the collective generosity and support of thousands of devoted students, benefactors, volunteers and friends across the world.
Tsoknyi Gechak Ling will serve as a foundation for generations of women and girls to receive an integrated secular and spiritual education – including a modern curriculum, rigorous studies of Buddhist philosophy, training in ritual and sacred arts, and opportunity for deep spiritual practice and realization of awakening.
It is our aspiration that this environment will support the nuns’ spiritual potential to preserve, embody, and share the Dharma with dignity and insight. Our vision includes reducing mental an emotional suffering, and encouraging groundedness, essence love and human flourishing.
We offer our deepest appreciation for all who have contributed to the realization of this vision. May this new beginning bring vast benefit to countless beings.
Following the two-day opening celebration, there will be a day of rest, after which nine total days of teachings will begin. The nine days consist of three programmes, each lasting three days. We invite you to join for the entire program or come for any part. We will announce further details in the coming months.
We warmly welcome you to celebrate with us.
Sincerely,
Tsoknyi Rinpoche and the Nuns of Gechak Ling
